Atomizadora de Panamá S.A. at Changuinola Airport
February 2024
In January 2024, my wife and I left cold and rainy Holland for Central America in search for better weather and some adventure. During this trip I also spend some time on aeroplane spotting at the various airports. The routing was Amsterdam - Bogota - Panama - Costa Rica - Nicaragua and back. Below a photo-report of what I've done.
Changuinola Capitan Manuel Niño Airport is situated in the middle of Chiquita banana country.
Aeropuerto de Changuinola is a traquil airport in the North-East corner of Panama and mainly usted by the Air Tractors of Atopan.
The Air Tractor AT-500 is a family of agricultural aircraft that first flew in the United States on 25 April 1986, manufactured by Air Tractor Inc.
From 2011 through 2018, the AT-502B was the world's top-selling agricultural aircraft with 388 deliveries, while the combined AT-500 line (AT-502A, -502B, and -504) was among the world's most popular fixed wing general aviation single-turboprop aircraft families.
We visited the Atopan maintenance base on Febraury 7, 2024.
Several Air Tractor 500's were present at the base.
It was a damp day.
HP-1864AT is an Air Tractor 502.
