Alberta Aviation Museum

In June 2023, my friend Michael Prophet and I visited Alberta, Canada. We took the opportunity to visit the Alberta Aviation Museum at the closed Edmonton City Airport. Enjoy the pics and captions.
"101060" is a CF-101B "Voodoo".
Downtown Edmonton makes for a nice backdrop.
McDonnell CF-101B Voodoo (Serial No. 101060), ex-USAF (Serial No. 57-0433), from CFB Chatham-based No. 416 "Lynx" AW (F) Squadron, mounted on a pylon in front of the Alberta Aviation Museum, Edmonton, Alberta.
“060” is former USAF ship "57-433" and went to Canada in 1971.
CF-HPY is Noorduyn Norseman.
"Hotel Pappa Yankee" is powered by a mighty Pratt & Whitney R-1340 9 cyl.air cooled radial piston engine.
CF-HPY looked rather lackluster back in June 2023.
The Noorduyn Norseman looks good from any angle.
Displayed in Canadian Airways colors, CF-ATZ, is a Fairchild 71.
Waco-UEC, CF-AAW, is a looking magnificent in such a classic livery.
The Waco-UEC is powered by a Continental R-670 engine.
A shinning Barkley-T8P "Grow", CF-BLV, at Alberta Aviation Museum.
The "Grow" is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior SB 9-cylinder air-cooled radial engines.

Twin-Beech CF-RSX looks to be in superb condition.
Welcome aboard!
Lethbridge Air Service before becoming Time Airways Ltd. in 1969. In 1993 it was merged with Ontario Express to create Canadian Regional Airlines.
CF-RSX looks great in Lethbridge Air Service livery.
Such a classic livery.
The green finish cockpit is easier and more restful for your eyes, less contrast.
The Twin-Beech, my absolute favorite airplane.
C-FOAY is a magnificent looking Stinson SR-9 "Reliant".
The SR-9's were fitted with a curved windshield, unique to this series.
The Reliant 9C is powered by a 260 horsepower Lycoming R-680-B5 engine.
This eye catching Stinson was build in 1937.
Noorduyn Norseman V., CF-EIH, is a great looking brute.
An iconic bird.
"Echo India Hotel" is powered by a mighty Pratt & Whitney R-1340 9 cyl.air cooled radial piston engine.

The aluminum looks shiny.
"886" is a Avro "Anson II".
"2114" is a De Havilland D.H. "Tiger Moth II".
Fancifully painted in RCAF yellow, the museum's Fleet Model 80 Canuck (CF-MHW) is one of the last ones ever built.
C-GHHB is a Hawker Hurricane.
Beautiful shape even in grey drab is this pristine preserved Mosquito.
C-FPGD/19101 is a Canadair CF-86 "Sabre Mk.1"
The natural aluminum finish on the Sabre blends into the metallic uniforms of his museum sisters.
TL-light glints off the polished aluminum fuselage of Sabre "19101".
"104651" is a Lockheed TF-104G "Starfighter".
Such a svelte, sleek fuselage. A wonderful airplane for its time from a technological standpoint.

"10651" is former Netherland Air Force (Klu) D-5805.
"506" is a Lockheed/Canadair Mk.3 "Silver Star".
"506" looked rather lackluster.

Crying out for cosmetic attention.
"21533" is a Lockheed/Canadair Mk.3 "Silver Star".
Formed at Lindholme, Yorkshire, England on 24 June 1941 as the RCAF’s eighth – second Bomber – squadron formed overseas, the unit flew Hampden, Halifax and Lancaster aircraft on strategic and tactical bombing operations.

The Canada goose is at home in Canada, England and Scotland; its speed and power of flight are indicative of the operational functions of the Squadron.

The Voodoo's were powered by Pratt & Whitney J-57's.
Ultra violet light is the culprit, bleaching out colors.
