Aviation monuments in Cuba Victoria del Socialimo By Jan Koppen
In February 2014, I visited western Cuba and spotted a lot of Aviation monuments.
A Sea Fury FB11 with most probably the fake mark 541 in front op the Playa Giron museum
At the Museo de la Revolutation in the center of Habana was a Sea Fury marked 542 and a Vought Sikorsky OS2U-3 Kingfisher with the mark 50
In the town Trinidad a came across a Yak-18T with registration CUT-1505 in a children playground
In park Lenin, Habana, I saw the Cubana Aviation An-24B CU-T880 and An-2 CU-C973
In the town Santa Clara came across a fromer Cubana Cargo An-24 with registration CU-C1257. The Antonov is presently in use as a restaurant
In front of the Air Base of Santa Clara is a MiG-21 on display.
Next to the airport of Cienfuegos is a military instruction camp where seven MiG-17 wrecks are dumped
