Barra bound in a Loganair DHC-6 Twin-Otter
During the last week of August 2024, I visited Edinburgh and Glasgow Airport for a bit of aircraft spotting and to sample a flight onboard a Loganair DHC-6 Twin-Otter to Barra Island in the Outere Hebrides. Lets start with Glasgow and the Twin-Otter flight to Barra Island.

This De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin-Otter left Downsview February 1980 and was delivered to wideroe of Norway that same month. In December 1994 she was sold to Loganair which operated the Twin-Otter as British Airways and Flybe franchise. Since 2017 she is working in her Loganair ‘Tartan’ outfit.

It was a warm and beautiful August 2024 afternoon when I photographed this Loganair Viking DHC-6-400 G-SGTS sitting at Barra beach.
Getting wet feet during boarding .... that's FUN for the average aviation enthusiast!

G-HIAL is a Viking, Calgary built DHC-6-400.
